I did not care too much for "not a Silent Night" their last Christmas album as it was harsh, but this collection adds a little edge with the blended vocals Truth has been known to have. Selection 7 is my personal favorite however I've always enjoyed Tiffany's performances.
I have been surprised she has not branched-out to a solo career! That is kinda weird to say since all of it is out of print pretty much. This is a very fun and unique album that is a definite must!! DLR back in Van Halen As a long time VH fan I wasn't sure at all about this at all. I mean really? DLR back in Van Halen!!! It just couldn't work, could it? Here's why Firstly, any new VH album is to be welcomed and the fact that Diamond Dave and the Van Halen brothers have kissed and made up is a joyous thing.
To hear them pick up where they left off in as though they've never been away is simply incredible and just goes to prove that musical chemistry is an unstoppable force that no amount of bitching and fighting can extinguish. These guys make a noise that quite simply inspires, entertains and matters Don't get me wrong - I love the Sammy Hagar stuff just as much and hope he'll front the band again one day but it's always been two different Van Halens that have co-existed.
I know Gary Cherone kind-of filled in for one album, which was sort of OK-ish, but there are basically two versions of my favourite band and it's either DLR or Sammy,or both, depending on how I feel at the time. Roth can still sing like the dog's proverbials and 'Blood And Fire' is an emotional rollercoaster for VH fans I mean "I told you I was coming back So the current Roth-fronted Van Halen line-up may hold the key to the band's future.
On the evidence of this record that may not be such a bad thing. OK - cards right out on the table. VH were a big part of my musical youth which is more than can be said for Musical Youth - back in the lates and early 80s I saw the Roth incarnation twice and they will remain one of my all-time faves.
The world has turned through trash-talking, substance abuse, reunion tours and more rumour mill than output - yet here we are. So what we got? Dave's wise-cracking crazy Zen wisdom? A rehabilitated EVH firing on all musical cylinders? A thunderous rhythm section? A bunch of 70s songs redone?
This is a brave and interesting step backwards to go forwards and it works much better than you would think. You do need to give the album a fair crack of the whip as it's not too immediate -repeated plays will reward though.
I didn't really get 'Tattoo' at first but as with everything on here, it's a grower. There's nothing to compete with say 'Runnin' WIth The Devil' or 'Unchained' or 'Romeo Delight' but it's good, good stuff and considering all the water under the bridge, it's amazing this record got made at all let alone as successfully as this. I do miss Mike though. Now - if they tour the UK, I'm there!
Some people made points about the sound quality and I would agree with that unfortunately. EVH through 21st century technology should equal eyebrow removal at 20 feet this is a little too compressed for my tastes.
What would Ted have done??? Welcome back Diamond Dave.. I didnt really know what to expect as both parties have been out of action for so long, maybe absence does make the heart grow fonder.
There's not much more can be said about the disc, its chock full of excellent tracks such as 'She's The Woman' my personal fav ,'Beats Workin','Outa Space' and 'China Town' and who doesnt raise a smile at 'Stay Frosty' a track that reminds you why you loved Diamond Dave in the first place. R Band released in ,listen to 'Bullethead' while 'Blood n Fire' could easily have come from any of Roths early discs and bizarrely everytime i hear 'You and Your Blues' i immediately think of Skyscraper's 'Just Like Paradise',not neccesarily the sound but the feel.

Another great release by a great Christian band.. Delightful, uplifting music. I marveled at the message of each track and found it soul inspiring. A turn from the depressing message of the secular world and a highly recommended, must listen to CD, for any inspired soul seeking person. This whole album was outstanding! These guys ought to be up for an award. Just one good song after another.
I love "Even If" because I've had some awful things happen in my life during this last two years that has devastated my family and ripped relationships apart to the point of seemingly no repair. I've seen things fall into place as though it were God's timing, which it always is God's timing, but other things remain unbalanced and chaotic. This is where I pray for others and leave it to God to do the healing. Sometimes you think you hear the word "no" but what He is really saying is "not right now" and that's what is happening in my life right now.
So even if He chooses "to leave mountains unmovable" I still believe and hope in Him. All that being said, I love this CD. Yes, I would recommend it to others. Profane 0. I wanted the new Even If song but I expected that there would be other hits from this album.
I was right, the whole album is great. MercyMe proves that music doesn't have to be empty or profane to be fun! The best inspirational cd but featuring "Even If" their newest which makes me cry. So awesome! See all reviews.
Top reviews from other countries. I've been a MercyMe fan for years and they just go from strength to strength. This is undoubtedly their best album yet. Although his vocals were a little diffrent in this album I was not disapointed. It reminds me greatly of another Metal Opera Avantasia. THe songs are fairly simple, yet fun. The best song on their is Anthem for the Children, which is just a great song about the bad things that happen in childrens lives. So if you like simple music, with keyboards, and wiling vocal this is the album for you.
One person found this helpful. Power metal is a genre filled to the brim with unoriginality, no matter how many dudes from other really good power metal bands merge together to make another one.
But really, this one ain't a bad effort. Featuring members of Luca Turelli and Edguy, this album has catchy as hell choruses, blazing guitar work, and cheesier than all get-out lyrics.
Very by-the-numbers, nothing extremely spectacular to the point that you gotta recommend it to everyone you know, but it suffices. There's definitely a lot of potential with all this starpower here.
I may check out Fairytales and Reality, their newest album. Typical power metal with enough melody to keep it enjoyable. I can hear alot of tobias lead singer of Edguy and one of producers on this release influence. Sounds alot like Luca Turrili and Rhapsody.Sign Of Truth Bringer Of Salvation Pouring Rain Anthem (For The Children) Holy War Don't Forget Walk On Fire Never Wait Loaded Gun (bonus) Key Into The Past (bonus) thanks Ilijan Password: swint.
